Awakening the Human Spirit in Business, Society, and Civilization

Publication context

Prepared as a keynote for the celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s 163rd Birth Anniversary and the 133rd anniversary of his visit to Japan, this publication considers a civilizational transition shaped by artificial intelligence, ecological stress, institutional distrust and the need for wiser human leadership.

The keynote brings Swami Vivekananda’s belief in human dignity and inner strength into conversation with Japan’s traditions of discipline, craftsmanship and social purpose. It asks how ethics and enterprise, inner and outer excellence, and technological capability can be brought together in service of a more conscious civilization.
